MARK SMOLIN'S DREAM SUBMISSIONS
Who is Aidan Rolf?
-I was taking a nap on some kind of road (sunny) and I remember being really comfortable. Suddenly somebody opened fire on me with a paintball machine gun. I remember getting hit a lot and I didn't know what to do or see who was shooting. Suddenly there was a huge gust of wind that made a lot of the shots fly wide so I ran. Whoever it was was chasing me. I stopped at the entry way to some building and turned to face the guy. I said something along the lines of "you just made a big mistake." I tried to check his license plate but I couldn't read it, and the same happened when I went around and tried to read the back one. He took off and I grabbed on to the back of his truck for a ways. Somehow I figured out that his name is Aidan Rolf. He was a blond kid just a little shorter than me, and a hell of a shot with a paintball gun.
-I was on a school bus and struck up a conversation with 2 girls. One was Amber Lafarette, a girl I was really mean to on the bus in middle school. It was a fun conversation, really flirty, especially when I figured out that one of them knew Aidan Rolf. I tried to get some information.
-I think I was on some kind of reality show and there were 2 teams. We had to get someone on the other team as a partner to say "I love you." I talked to some girls, but didn't really pay attention to what they said. I got to Amber Lafarette and asked if she would say she loved me. She gave me a weird look and said "no."
woke up
-I remember driving by park meadows.
-I went back to elementary school. I think it was a lot of the same kids, only we were all my age now. I remember seeing Mitch Sloan and Lindsey Gilchrist. To get to my class I had to walk through all the others, and everyone was really excited to see me. When I got to my class there was a closet on one end full of clothes and Jen's boyfriend Matt was a salesman selling everyone clothes. I figured out that it was the back to school deal Nicole and I used to do with Annette, only I was supposed to pick out my own this time. First I imagined that it would be really fancy clothes like suits, but then I figured out it was casual. I always needed to ask a girls opinion about something. Matt asked what I was looking for and I asked for something green. He gave me a green shirt that didn't meet the approval of whatever girl I asked. Neither did a red sweater I tried. I didn't end up getting anything.
-The dream changed and the class was filled with 8 or more feet of water and everyone was swimming. Jen Gordon saw a shark. I saw it swim by and it was pretty decent sized, maybe 7 feet. I had her squeeze behind me into a little niche in a wall and told her to go fetal. I squeezed in front to protect her. I noticed her leg sticking out, told her she was nuts, and she pulled it back. Then the shark came at us with its mouth open. I grabbed its mouth and squeezed it closed and then killed it. I don't remember exactly how.
We were going on some sort of family trip. For some reason Mocia and I went separately from everyone else. I think we were going to Canada, and we were going on foot. We were walking along some sort of elevated wooden track, like a railroad track, only narrower. We had 2 guides. It was high up, and we had something to hang on to. I remember thinking it was some kind of shortcut, like in my dream where I drove to Boston. I was having a pretty tough time moving along, so I thought that grandma might be having an even harder time. We were in some kind of snowy mountain ridge. One of the guides turned around and opened fire. Mocia and I fell to one side and I told her to act like she had been hit. It turned out that bigfoot was coming up behind us and they had gunned him down. They skinned him and stretched out the fur. I asked if they took any photos, and told them that nobody would believe that it was really bigfoot.
-The path took us through some mall.
-I was with the rest of my family, and dietka was there too. I remember thinking about how he died. We talked a little but I don't remember about what. In my dream the reason he died was his liver and heart both failed. I talked to mocia to see how she was doing. She told me that she would go on a Friday the 13th and pointed to a calendar. I told her not to be ridiculous. She said that she felt out a lot of the time and my mom wouldn't let her talk much anymore. Suddenly one of her friends was there and mocia said something that for whatever reason made my mom and I uncomfortable and I think I somehow mediated.
-Me and some friends were on some sort of spaceship. A bunch of smaller ships were gunning at a section of our ship that we had taken down the shields on. I asked somebody if we should put the shields back up, but they pointed to some grates with fans in them and said that the shots might ricochet in there and we couldn't replace whatever they were. Nobody was very concerned. We were out on some sort of deck. I remember Dana Teahan had developed a crush on Sarah Biggs and suddenly leaned in and kissed her. It made everyone very uncomfortable. Suddenly Grant Marostica came out onto the deck dancing or doing something funny and he had an enormous piece of cooked egg white surrounding his head, like his head was the yoke. I called him an egghead.
